General Announcements

14th District Community Alert - Wanted for Luring/Child Abduction
This incident occurred on February 23rd, 2010 on the 2400 block of Altgeld Ave at approximately 8am. A 10 year old female Goethe Elementary School student was approached by the offender, who asked the victim for directions and then offered the victim a ride to school.
The offender is described as being a male Hispanic, 20 - 30 years old, short brown hair and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and driving a small red vehicle with rear passenger side damage.

What you can do:
- Call 911 to report any suspicious person or activity
- Walk in pairs
- Don't talk to strangers or approach strange vehicles
- Be aware of your surroundings

Beat 1431 Section Reports
SECTION 1 (Borders: California, Milwaukee, Armitage)
1) Graffiti continues to be a nuisance under the El particularly near Bingham and Milwaukee. Spanish Cobras gang graffiti was reported on Milwaukee.
action: Residents are urged to continue calling 911 to report criminal activity.

SECTION 2 (Borders: Rockwell, Lyndale, Western, Milwaukee)
1) A representative from Congress Pizza mentioned that there was no noteworthy activity. PO Trempe mentioned that the security guard at Congress Pizza detained a man, (a Spanish Lord gang member) who was abusing his girlfriend at the bar area, until the police arrived and arrested the offender for domestic battery.
2) Representatives were present from VLive (Club 2047). There were at least 2 arrests made at VLive over the month. One occurred in the parking lot (domestic arrest - a couple were involved in an altercation). The other arrest was made at the entrance when an individual was denied entry.
3) There were a couple arrests reported in conjunction with Tini Martini for disorderly patrons.
4) No activity was reported at Congress Theater.
5) A resident reported that there are a large number of tow trucks taking up street parking places around the 2200 block of Campbell. SGT Belicki mentioned that special truck parking permits are available at the Alderman's office.
6) Officers have witnessed a large gathering of Spanish Lords gang members at the hot dog stand near Western and Wilmot. Officers are watching the increased presence and activity of this gang. They are believed to be trying to recruit from local public schools (Pulaski School, Clemente High School and Goethe Elementary) and showing their presence in the area.
action: Club 2047 criminal activity, Congress Theater & Tini Martini nuisances and Congress Pizza gang activity remain priorities in this section.

SECTION 3 (Borders: Rockwell, Fullerton, Western, Lyndale)
1) PO Trempe reported that they arrested the criminal who robbed the Dunkin' Donuts last month on Rockwell.
action: Residents are strongly urged to call 911 to report gang activity and 311 for graffiti.

SECTION 4 (Borders: California, Fullerton, Rockwell, Milwaukee)
No activity was reported

SECTION 5 (Borders: California, Logan Boulevard, Rockwell, Fullerton)
No activity was reported.

SECTION 6 (Borders: Rockwell, Logan Boulevard, Western, Fullerton)
1) Skateboarders continue to enjoy the skatepark.
